At 15.00 pm Mendoza will kick-off this year’s Smukfest at Bøgescenen, But before Mendoza’s electronic 90’s inspired music you should go to the TV-stage to witness two talents of the upcoming scene from Aarhus and Vejle. The two upcoming bands won the two local competitions in Skanderborg called ‘MUK’ and ‘Georgs Garage’ which awarded them with a spot in the line-up at the festival in Skandeborg.
Zebu Zarina have been playing a ton of concerts at different venues in Aarhus such as Atlas, Radar, HeadQuarters, Lydhaven Festival, Gyngen and Backstage – just to mention a few. The musical style is a mix between balkan, rock and pop and the concerts are filled with energy and dance-moves inspired by Manu Chao and Tako Lako. Zebu Zarina won over eleven other bands in a local competition called MUK in Skanderborg.
Chasing Greenlights is a bunch of young guys from Vejle who play electronic rock. Their rock music with an electronic edge leads your thoughts to Carpark North, Spleen United and Dúné, and the last of the mentioned bands they actually already played support for. The tempo is fast and the energy is high, so look out! Chasing Greenlights won over 5 other bands in a local competition called Georgs Garage in Skanderborg.
So, if you want to see some upcoming bands at a festival where the poster isn’t as good as it used to be, you should get your Smukfest started at the TV Stage at 14.45 pm.
Be there or be square!
