This Friday we have potentially what could be one of the gigs of the year for you to attend; Psychedelic acid rock from Japan and Denmark. If you are a fan of the genre or just want to see a good ass show that will expand your mind (if you have any left after a holiday weekend and good weather…) we’re giving the opportunity for you and a friend to win free entry to Studenterhus.
Just comment with the name of the friend, lover or enemy you’d like to attend with and you’re in it to win it! We’ll do the rest.
You might have been hearing a little about Fribytterdrømme – they’ve been making ripples in the Danish music scene with their debut album- Labyrintens Farver , a swirling acid-rock inspired piece of Danish psych-pop sung in their mother tongue. Their album release show garnered some glowing reviews from other review type things that seem to know what they are talking about, but you can see what the lads have up their gusset when they storm the archives this weekend.
Kikagaku Moyo is a Tokoyo based quartet who are overwhelmingly respected in the underground music community as being one of the best Psychedelic/acid-folk groups from ‘over yonder’. They’ve got 3 albums of material out to sink your teeth into – ranging all the way from Indian sitar assisted garage rock, epic space-rock tone poems to straight up “tune in, drop out” acid/stoner rock. They seem to mix everything al together, including weird folk instruments from back east in one colorful audio painting. Basically – it’s weird and Japanese, what more do you want this Friday?
So start commenting and tagging – we’ll let the winners know later in the week. For the rest of you losers – tickets are available at Studenterhus’ ticket site at 50 bob for members/70 for everyone else.
We’ll see ya there!
