It is Sunday again, and therefore, time for another wrap-up of the week that has reached its end. It is shitty weather outside, almost comparable to the refugee crisis in contemporary international politics – we love the idea of snow, we just do not want it to stay on Danish soil. Hypocrites. That said this is not meant as an article on modern political debates but a subjective summary of news on the Danish music scene.
New Single and Album Releases:
This week I have decided to combine single and album releases into one single paragraph in this week’s wrap up. First, the new blooming duo Vores Allesammens, consisting of Johannes Nørrelykke and Birk Nevel, has released their debut single ‘Slå Fra’. The guys have previously been performing as a part of Gypsies, Vincent Van Go Go, and Are We Brothers, so keep an eye out for these guys and follow them on social medias. Moreover, the duo just unveiled a new live version of ‘Slå Fra’, which you can see below. Check out ‘Slå Fra’ via the Spotify embed below.
The next release to be highlighted this week comes from one of the most promising Danish bands at the moment – The Entrepreneurs. This week they surprised all of us with their newest single ‘Unable To Stop’, which you can read more about on SoundOfAarhus here. Furthermore, they released a new video for their new single, which you can see at the bottom of the article. Remember that they will stop by Aarhus to kick-start their forthcoming ‘The Tony Rominger Tour’ at Fatter Eskil on March 23. Check it out via the Spotify embed below.
Next, we have some news from one of our local heroes – Yung. After announcing that they will have a new full-length album called ‘Youthful Dream’ out in June on Fat Possum Records, they premiered a new track called ‘Pills’ on The Fader. Stream ‘Pills’ via Soundcloud below.
Also, the American-inspired R&B princes from Scarlet Pleasure unveiled their first single in 2016. On March 2 they shared their newest track ‘Casual’ – a Michael Jackson inspired, creamy and sexy track perfect for the weekend. Check it out via the Spotify embed below.
In the same token, the blooming band Phlake released their new single ‘Angel Zoo’. Musically, it is a soul-inspired track perfect for Sunday chill on a day like today. Grab a hot cup of coffee and a blanket and check out ‘Angel Zoo’ via the Spotify embed below.
Need some more Rock music? We have some news for you then. The Copenhagen-based outfit Siamese just shared their newest single ‘Ablaze’ – a stadium friendly track drawing on several legendary inspirations with brilliant vocal by their Jacob Bundsgaard-looking lead singer Mirza Radonjica. Furthermore, they released a new video as well. You can see the video at the bottom of the article. Check out ‘Ablaze’ via the Spotify embed below.
In regard to new album releases, I have decided to focus on three new releases you should check out. First of all, the talented duo Wangel unveiled their debut album ‘Freedom’ which we rewarded with 4.5 out of 6 stars – Check out the review here. Secondly, pop outfit Who Is Louis reminded us that it is okay to make pop music with the release of their self-titled album ‘Who Is Louis’ – Check out the review here. Finally, only two days ago the Copenhagen-based duo Inouwee dropped their album ‘RAWHIDE’ – a hybrid between indie, pop, and electronic music. Check it out via SoundOfAarhus here.

Virgin Suicide New Band Of The Week on The Guardian:
When a brilliant Danish 80s pop outfit travels to Norway to play a By:Larm we write about. When that Danish band is made the ’New Band Of the Week’ by one of the most influential medias in the world, then we feel obligated to write about it. If you still have not checked out Danish Virgin Suicide well then you know what to do today. Fans of Suede and The Cure will love it. Therefore, start the track featured below and read the post on The Guardian – it is pretty f*cking impressive to be named ‘New Band Of The Week’ by them. Well done boys, you deserve it.
Festival News from SPOT:
Actually, SPOT festival unveiled several things this week. First, The festival announced that they will expand the ‘festival area’ this year, and will include stages all over town this year – read more about it here. Secondly, they unveiled 10 additions to the roster last Monday, namely: Alex Vargas (DK), ANYA (DK), DÚNÉ (DK), Karl William (DK), Virgin Suicide (DK), Death Hawks (FI), Gundelach (NO), J. Arlin (DK), The Eclectic Moniker (DK), and Xolo Island (DK).
The April Rainers Leak Two Tracks From Live Gig in London:
One of the most exciting bands on the local scene must be The April Rainers – 4 guys including a Libertine (John Hassall), James Jefferys, Jakob Bruno, and Erland Eggestad – combined into a melting pot of nationalities and musical talent. Since they performed at Sway last year, we really have not heard much from them, but this week a couple of videos were uploaded to Youtube. Here you can hear and see them perform ‘Whether Girl’ and ‘Intercity 125’ live at Boogaloo in London – check them out via the links in the track names.
American BØRNS To Support Mumford & Sons In Aarhus
To be honest, this is actually old news from February 26 – it just totally miss the news about the support act being announced for the hyped Mumford And Sons gig later on this year in Aarhus. Therefore, if you (like me) did not see the support-announcement, the American outfit BØRNS will support Mumford And Sons. You can find the official facebook event here. Check out BØRNS’s track ‘Electric Love’ via Spotify below.
New Live Session Releases From Blaue Blume, Wangel and Vores Allesammens:
We always love live sessions on SoundOfAarhus. Not only do live sessions show the plain and simple version of a song, but it also shows the musicians simply being musicians. We love it. This week I have decided to feature three new live session releases. First of all, Blaue Blume have released one of the most stunning live sessions I have seen in many years – it is called ‘The Syzygy Session’ and it is truly magnificent. Secondly, Wangel have unveiled a brilliant new live version of ‘Lithium’ – check it out here, and remember to check out their new album ‘Freedom’. Finally, as mentioned above, Vores Allesamens have released a live version of their single ‘Slå Fra’, which you can check out here. It is always fun to compare studio and live versions of a new track.
