What is SOA about
Sound Of Aarhus, also known as SOA, is an English writing publication based in Aarhus, Denmark. We are an independent online music magazine covering the best in local and domestic music. With a focus on upcoming music, we strive to give you relevant articles, reviews, interviews, recommendations and much more with the intention of clarifying the music environment in Aarhus.
Our success is down to an editorial of creative men and women united through a love of music. With writers from different ages and places, we cover a wide range of genres, venues and types of articles.
We want you to see the endless possibilities in music – to feel the joy of standing in the middle of a tense crowd in front of a talented musician you didn’t even knew existed!
Driven by curiosity and passion we prioritize the quality of our articles more than anyone else! Let’s make something clear – we’re music fans first and foremost with a genuine love of music and a desire to share that love through words, pictures, videos and events in Aarhus.

History of SOA
Back in the end of 2012, the founder of Sound of Aarhus, Steffen Paust, wanted to gather the music environment in Aarhus in one single unit and thereby make it easier for everyone in Aarhus as well as those outside, to navigate through the local events. In early 2013, Steffen, then currently studying Business Administration in Aarhus, created Sound of Aarhus as a small site with only a few video-posts per day. After a short time, Asbjørn Lyhne joined the project and the two started to craft the platform you know today.
Things took off, several editorial writers joined the project, and started working even more intense on the new platform. Without spending a dime they created a wide range of contacts in the music industry in Denmark, which should also result in Sound Of Aarhus being the first initiator in many musical related activities. The rest is history as they say.
By following their intentions and passion for the art of music, Sound Of Aarhus are proud to now launch our first website. A lot of exciting things are on the verge of release such as UNIK, the new management and booking label founded by Sound Of Aarhus, Live sessions with different kinds of artists and events in Aarhus. We thank you all for the support so far and hope you will all stay connected in the future. Who knows, maybe Aarhus could turn out to be Denmark’s best music city in near future with your help!
