The lampposts whiz past late at night. Everything is blurry and you’re “All alone [..] slowly your life fades”. This is the best way to describe the mental image that Woonds’s debut single Shadesinspires. Behind the project you will find Simon Martin Sandfær and Michael Kim Hansen. The two started out with folk-project FOLKS, but unfortunately they had to stop due to time constraints. Now they are back in a brand new packaging. Similar with Kadie-Elder with a brilliant atmosphere full of melancholy.
As a dark shadow game where only the inner feelings are allowed to shine through, they place you behind the thoughts about life. Hope and pain has many shades and their single is in particular worth its title. Well produced and deep. Even after the number has reached its end you’re still placed with lampposts rushing past in the corner of your eye, but at the same time hoping that it’s all gonna be just fine on the other side.
Like the character in ‘Palle Alone in the World’ from 1949 it takes you confident around waiting for better times – waiting for more. Woonds is definitely a project we are going to see more of, and if they can deliver just as well-produced songs in the future it’s hard to set goals on how far the two young boys can reach.
