Sounds Like: Fitz & The Tantrums, Bo Saris, D/Troit
The summer is officially over. But that doesn’t mean that the supply of lovely summer jams will just suddenly dry out. This is Max Frost and he is really bringing the sunshine into our office at the moment.
Born in 1993 and raised in Austin, Texas, his musical career began early. At the age of 12 he started performing local gigs, and on tour in 2013 and 2014 he supported major acts such as Gary Clark Jr. and Fitz and The Tantrums.
Only days ago he released his new EP ‘Intoxication’ on September 25. Musically he draws upon a variety of influences, resulting in an EP that has a unique vibe reminiscent of artists such as the Dutch Bo Saris or the before mentioned Fitz and The Tantrums. An overview of his releases will definitely convince you of the relevance of his moody and striking soul-pop songs that belie his young age. We guarantee you that his new release, as well as his older songs, will really get into your head and don’t want to come out again. I would especially highlight his new tracks Withdrawal, Paranoia, and $Dreams. Not to forget his old hit-jam White Lies, a track that was even featured in a commercial for Beats Electronics.
To sum up Denmark and Danish bookers should really give this man a call. Do it for the sake of soul-pop music. A Max Frost gig with support from e.g. talented Danish outfit D/Troit could lay the foundation for an unforgettable night!
