a new 1-day festival impresses with brilliant bookings and great values.
It happens from time to time, that new festivals appear on the Danish festival scene and impresses from day 1. Almost every festival starts out as a smaller option for the Danish audience, with high ambitions and a modern approach. Take Northside as an example, they started out 4 years ago and look where they are now. I guarantee you though; things will not expand the same way for Lydhaven Festival – and don’t worry, there’s a positive reason to it!
One can only admire the work of these 10 young music lovers, age 16-17, who decided to start this new festival. They all go to a music school in Klejtrup, one of the best music continuation Schools in Denmark. Here they all found each other through a shared vision of letting same aged musicians be on posters along side already established upcoming names – a vision worthy of a standing ovation! We all have dreams and visions, but it’s not everyone who actually act. These guys did.
This year Lydhaven Festival will take place 14. September at B-huset and Byparken, located at the very popular Godsbanen. Here you can witness a festival, where the people behind it really do what they promise, they give you artists that are either on the verge of breakthrough, or a part of the ‘gold’ from the Danish continuation schools. That theme, and those values, will hopefully mean several more years. But it will also give them the charming status of a small festival. No more talk, here are some of the acts:
– Baby In Vain
– Ice Cream Cathedral
Outside the stages you will find skateboarding, graffiti, street-football, competitions and a very lovely festival atmosphere!
