Today, Aarhus Psych Fest announces three new acts from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, each representing very different takes on ‘psych-music’
Electric Eye (NO)
Formed in 2012, Electric Eye is known for their fuzzed out drone galore which mixes influences from spacy Psych with noise rock. Since the release of their debut ”Pick up, Lift off” the band has been touring extensively while establishing themselves as a stable and well-renowned live act on the growing North European Psych Scene.
Aarhus-based Morgan Square plays 60s-inspired Psychedelic rock, driven by an acidy organ, esoteric vocals and lo-fi, reverb-ladden layers of noisy guitars. As a part of the booming local Psych Scene, Morgan Square has quickly placed themselves on the forefront with their EP “Evil Red Sun”, available for “name your price” via their bandcamp page.
Holy plays minimalistic Psych Pop with quirky garage rock elements. On their first three singles, the band sports a sunny “San Francisco Bay Area”-garage sound, reminiscent of early Ty Segall, showing their fine-tuned sensitivity to mixing naïve lo-fi garage with acidy and strange effects.
The festival which takes place on October 3-4 at Radar, Godsbanen, has already announced legendary Spindrift(US) and mysterious slow-psychers Distortion Girls.
