Uncle Tang is a new live music and party initiative in Aarhus. He is your fun uncle who’s having all the great parties with his favorite artists… And during Aarhus Festuge, it’s even free.
In cooperation with ‘Understrøm’, Uncle Tang is having five different artists on his line-up, to give you a taste of the music that will surely dominate the pop- and electronic scene the coming year.
This is your chance to see and experience a mix of futuristic, raving, hard beating and lovely industrial music, with a little bit of extra dynamic.
Everything is happening just below Clemens Bro where Aarhus-based Valmai will be the first to take the stage at 18:00. She’s a very elegant vocalist whose songs are often dreamy and emotional, contrasting to the hard beats formed by the bass and roaring synthesizers. Give her single ‘Expect’ a listen here:
At 19:15 you can take a trip with Astronaut to their musical universe, where weirdness, soul, and experimenting and other-worldly sounds are reigning. While they sometimes have a slight 80’s ring to their songs, other tunes simply cannot be defined by stating its relevance to a specific decade. Throw yourself out there – in space with the Astronaut. ‘Supernatural’ is their latest single. Watch the video and hear the song here:
Noréll is a hard mix of hip hop inspired beats and pop/house sounds sprinkled with bright vocals and auto tune spices. At 20:30 they will be spreading electronic vibes and crispy and somehow ‘spacy’ melodies. When listening to this Danish trio from Copenhagen, it is quite clear that they are sharing their electronic style with their label colleague Kill J, both signed by No3 Records. To warm up to Noréll, grab your head phones and listen to ‘Howl’ right here:
Then Hockeysmith will be dropping some pretty heavy electro beats at 21.45. The group is from the UK and their style is a bit hard to define. There’s a little techno, a little trashy rock, a lot of electro and a dark and intense attitude. Nonetheless, you have to get your own impression of what their music is to you. Get a taste of their dark atmosphere by checking out their song ‘Go Baack’:
The last artists on stage this evening is the Danish duo FAE . I guess they are the ones finishing the evening because they will surely leave your feet tired and your shoes worn out from all the dancing. They play raving dance- electronic and art pop in one big mash, making you forget time and place and just follow the rhythm. I’m expecting a lot of hands in the air at this performance. Come on, let’s have a ball. Get moving to this magnificent dance track and turn up the night:
See you the 2nd of September at Aarhus Festuge!
