The local Dad Rocks! supports Boho Dancer at Radar this Thursday.
Dad Rocks! is formed by the Icelander Snævar Njáll Albertsson in the beginning of 2010. In April 2010 he made the EP ‘Digital Age’ which became a successful start to his career, which was followed up by the commended LP ‘Mount Modern’. A few months later the recording company Big Scary Monsters Records contacted Albertsson and they released Dad Rocks! in the UK. Dad Rocks! began to play lots of concerts all around in Denmark and he collected some live-members to support him to his concerts.
Dad Rocks! has since 2010 become signed by Father Figure Records, Kimi Records, Paper Garden Records and Friend Of Mine Records and he has collected a lot of great live-members since.
Dad Rocks! has played worldwide and played at The Great Escape in Brighton, England and has been booked for remarkable festivals as Popkomm, CMJ, Iceland Airwaves and even more. They have in addition played at Aarhus’ SPOT Festival.
The music contains guitar with lots of instruments as piano, trumpet, viola, violin and great percussions that makes the sound of Dad Rocks! very interesting and original. His lyric is wide and stretches from small to big and are often accompanied with a second vocal.
Boho Dancerwas formed in Aarhus back in 2009, but despite having played together in just few years, they’re already one of DK’s most hyped bands in their genre. The trio behind the project (Asker Bjørk, Símun Mohr and Ida Wenøe) had their Boho Dancer breakthrough in 2011, where they won the “unsigned bands award”, played at SPOT-, Skanderborg- and Northside Festival – without having released a single!
Since then they’ve released an EP and a full length album, where both proves that the hype is well deserved!
Thursday Radar will have both acts on stage, and this is your chance to see two of the most interesting Danish folk-acts perform – and it only costs 80 kr.!
