Autumn is closing in, and so is the season so appreciated by the Americans, Halloween. Halloween never really got through to the danish people, a little pumpkin here and there, and some kids going around the block covered in sheets. This year Kabaret Sybarit and The Artems are bringing us a reason to celebrate. These two bands are bringing us the little known genre Dark Cabaret, and serving it wrapped in costumes and raw energy.
Dark Cabaret is a genre which is hard to describe. To the listener, who only pays attention for a few seconds, it might seem like a wall of noice, but Dark Cabaret can also be a celebration of energy, and if you let yourself sink in, you will not only feel it, but also become a part of this punkish energy. I felt this energy on my own body this spring, where the punk/cabaret band Gogol Bordello played. To put it short; soon enough i was dancing around like a pirate.
On the following dates, Kabaret Sybarit, and The Artems will be playing in Aarhus. The bands encourage you to come dressed in a Halloween-outfit if you like, but all your participation requires is a good mood.
