Thy – a small area in the western part of Jutland. Despite the size, it’s the birthplace of many young, talented musicians. These young, talented musicians recently decided to do something quite innovative: Starting up a platform, from where the music from Thy can be spread out to the rest of the country – the platform is called ‘Thy Music Collective’.
Yesterday they launched their brand new website, where you can read the latest news regarding concerts or releases, and you can read the profiles of the bands involved. And why not go ahead and mention a few of them:
Quick Quick Obey, Artificial Brothers, Mont Oliver and The Divers.
The bands involved are really different from each other, in style and such, but they all share the vision of passing on the musical heritage to younger generations – to make sure, that the musical scene in Thy keeps on growing. It’s all about sharing know how and helping out your friends, even though you don’t exactly play the same kind of music.
First step on the way is the release of their first mixtape, ‘Sounds from up North #01’ – where you can find a song from all the bands in the collective. The story of this collective is definitely worth mentioning to our readers, and their new mixtape is highly recommendable. Make sure you follow these guys on Facebook as well!
