To young guys trying to sing along with The Kikos’ track, “Cannonball” which had its radio debut the other day at the P6 program, Debut. Clearly disturbing the small group of people who have gathered in front of the Live Camp stage at KærligHeden.
The sun is shining on the people at the benches, which for the time have changes from beer to water and starting their second day at the festival sitting down. Not that many have found enough energy to come to the live music yet, but those attending listen concentrated to the five young guys, looking down at their instruments on stage.
This second day at Smukfest is clearly marked by the hot weather. People are taking a swim in the lake, sunbathing and enjoying the sun – which haven´t been around for a while.
Taking a stroke at the camp site, the very young boys and girls are spending the day beer bowling, listening to mainly hiphop music and drinking their cheap beers, imported from Germany. They don´t seem to be longing for the music to start on the main stages on Wednesday.
By the water, the SOA pavilion is up and running, and the atmosphere is just beautiful. Yesterday´s succesfull sessions and interviews is getting analyzed and the SOA team is trying to escape their hangovers with preparing for a new day with music and interviews in the SOA lounge next to the LiveCamp stage.
Today we´ve had the pleasure of hosting indie-folk HEIMATT to a live session, interview, and an UNDERBERG. It ended up with a chat about everything from best festival memories to the best dressing for your hotdog.
We then followed up by hosting Leonora Sarah and FJER to small interviews. Two acts which both played this afternoon LiveCamp stage. People standing in front of the SOA lounge, listening to the interviews with a beer ore just stopping by, when they realize the fact that th bands they´ve just seen on the stage, are now sitting in the SOA sofa chatting about memories from the band bus, how the backstage area are treating them or their relationship to sex.
A couple of hours later the festival people gathered in front of the LiveCamp stage for the final shows. The atmosphere changed from a cozy summer vibe to party, where especially the duo BENAL gave the crowd what they wanted – one big party.
In the SOA lounge we had the two guys, Benjamin and Albert (BENAL) in the sofa for a chat about their expectations for their first show at Smukfest. Our last interview Monday was with the lovely guys from Virgin Suicide, who were forced to stop their gig after only a couple songs. No power, no music – luckily, they were back on stage after a short break. Virgin Suicide really handled the situation with a great attitude and professionalism!
From the stage one last statement is made – “The winner of LiveCamp 2015 is Anya and the winner of the TAK ROCK competition is The Kikos”. Anya will open the main stage (BØGESCENEN) on Wednesday and The Kikos is set to open P3 teltet on thursday.
Congratulations to the two winners, and a big thank you to the LiveCamp organisers for taking upcoming music seriously.
