There are musicians who makes you fall relaxed onto the couch, artists who moves your feet to the dance floor and then there is a third category of musicians. This third category can best be describe as the artists who get my inner globetrotter forward when I put on my headphones.
Local The White Dominos is already known for providing a superb live show that simply must and WILL be experienced live. Recently they released their self titled EP “The White Dominos” with 3 great tracks included. The different thing about this EP is that it’s recorded the old-fashioned way. The entire band, ready, set, go – record! Truly something that gives a good feeling of standing in front of the band live rather than a recorded disc.
From start to finish they provide you with top Rock ‘n’ Roll which makes you want to throw it all, lease a red mustang and drive up Route 66. Definitely a band with talent within its genre, a genre which unfortunately is not gaining enough promotion due to mainstream danceable tracks on top of the charts these days.
First track ”Holding On” actually start out showing a slightly different side of the boys, because of its heavier drum and bass. Moving on to the second track “I Want You” and last track ”On My Own” you then get kicked out of the chair by real sweet rock ‘n’ roll. Third track “On My Own” actually starts out quietly until it shows its power around 0:50 and in best rock ‘n’ roll style pushes both chairs, tables and even bartenders all the way to the other end of the room. This mood is in general spread throughout all three tracks
In its own way the song titles actually describes how the album is constructed. First you sit alone and gently push the play button eventually to find out that you’re not able release their grip again – you’re simply “Holding On” while they push you around the smoky, beer-smelling venue.
The people at Sound Of Aarhus are pretty sure that we will see more of boys, both album-wise and on live stages across the country. We acknowledge with a 4/5 stars – last star is not given only due to the fact that we want to hear more tracks from the boys.
The last sentence has to be – HEAR them live!
