Since the beginning of Sound of Aarhus in January 2013, our goal has been to clearify the music environment in our lovely city. This has mainly been done through articles, promotion before great gigs and by creating our own free calendar. Now we’ve signed a partnership with American app Timbre. Sound of Aarhus will serve as an editor on the Timbre app in Denmark.

As Uffe Ellemann once said: “If you can’t beat them, join them”. That’s exactly what Sound of Aarhus did with the free concert app Timbre!
Timbre launched back in 2012 and the app’s reputation as a location-based concert-finder app has been steadily growing ever since. The iPhone app helps you discover live music in your area based on a pre-defined radius. No worries you can also manually switch to the location or region you’re looking for!
With their new version 2.0 they have introduced a lot of treats for music fans around the world, also from a social perspective! You are now able to ‘star’ certain shows, essentially letting you bookmark for future references, while their new Facebook integration lets you see what concerts your friends are planning to attend to.
Maybe you have a favorite artist but you always forget when he/she is stopping by your town. Well, now you don’t have to worry any longer. You can receive alerts when your favorite bands or artist are scheduled to return to your areas.
Everything packed within an elegant display of concerts nearby, Timbre enables user to listen to music too. So basically select a concert you may want to check out, and the app will serve you some tunes from the artist. Furthermore you can buy tickets to concerts in only 3 taps. Right now the app is still iOS-only in Europe, with Android as US-only. They’ve included 22 languages for the app across 26 countries.
Once again, As Uffe Ellemann once said: “If you can’t beat them, join them”. That’s exactly what Sound of Aarhus did!
