Aarhus has had quite a scene going for a few years now, and if you’re familiar with Yung, Fright Eye, Bed Bugs and Happy Hookers For Jesus – just to name a few – you are definitely aware of Tears, possibly the next of Aarhus’ ‘punk’ scene’s groups to find their place in the light very soon.
With nearly an album’s worth of material up on their Soundcloud profile – Tears sound has been really hard to define actually – each tune they put out is a little different – but containing members (like Yung Shord) on drums from other punk groups – of course, they fit the bill sonically – however as you can hear “A Boy’s Choice” is a great step towards lo-fi dream pop – actually as close as you get to one of our “punk” acts going into Beach House territory – with the song’s Casio beats and dreamy feel – it’s quite a great little treat for fans of all kinds of indie here in Aarhus and elsewhere.
Watch out for Tears – they just played a few weeks ago in Tape and will no doubt perform in support of the soon-to-be-released compilation “Collision With An Insignificant City”. We’re looking forward to that!
