Yes, Blue Foundation is back!
It’s been rather quiet from this Danish dream-pop duo since their 2012 album release, In My Mind I Am Free, but the wait is over; their forthcoming album will be released in September, and a pre-taste has already been released. It’s time to sit back, relax and disappear into this magnificent universe, that only Blue Foundation can create.
They must be considered one of DK’s greatest bands, and one of those where you can honestly say, that they deserve every bit of success they’ve experienced. Sweep Of Days, their release from 2004, is, in my opinion, one of the strongest albums to come out of this country, and on their 2007 follow up, Life Of A Ghost, Eyes On Fire appeared; a single that has more than 25 million plays on Spotify, the remix (by The Zeds Dead) of the song has more than 90 million streams on YouTube.
A few days ago, they released Dream On Fire, a smooth, relaxing and spellbinding track, that proves that Blue Foundation is more than just the above-mentioned tracks and albums from back in the days. This single features American singer Sonya Kitchell, a perfect fit with Tobias Wilner, I’m sure you’ll agree.
All there’s left is to kindly ask you to find your best headphones or speakers, find a place where you can sit comfortably, press play and make sure there’s nothing or no one to distract you. You’ll love it.
The forthcoming album ‘Blood Moon’ will be released September 2nd and holds features from names like Mark Kozelek (Sun Kill Moon), Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone), Jonas Bjerre (Mew), and – of course – Sonya Kitchell.
