Not a lot of concerts to choose from this week, but those on the schedule are definitely worth considering!
Thursday is the day where most concerts takes place this weekend, and this day you have three brilliant events to choose from. At Train you can experience the stars from Lis Er Stille, who since 2004 have released 5 albums. The music/art project was once mentioned by the legendary music reporter David Fricke (RollingStone), who compared Lis Er Stille with Pink Floyd. Their latest release Flight of Belijár came in September this year, and the making of it has quite a remarkable story to it. It contains three stages, three stories, circulating the ultimate destruction of planet earth, thats one thing. The other thing is, during the recording instruments are exchanged and bringing out some of the bands greatest strengths, furthermore the result gets even better when the musicians intake their signature positions.
Same evening RAUMS EINS invites to a relaseparty for their very first vinyl-release with Fright Eye, whom recently played at Aarhus Psych Fest. This garage punk band have been playing concerts in Skive, Aarhus, Aalborg and Copenhagen, and are now ready to release their first vinyl, and the next releases are already planned. As support they are bringing Bed Bugs, a young band who writes short post-punk songs. BTW, there’s free entrance!
At Radar you can experience 4 Guys From The Future, a band that earlier this year released one of the best Danish albums from this year, at least that’s my opinion. ‘Adagio’ has changing themes that most people can relate to, brilliantly produced beats and a hypnotizing vocal from frontman Bjarke Porsmose. As support they bring Pre-Be-Un, the alias from Danish composer and musician Nicolai Kleinerman Koch, a super talent in any way! Entrance is 80 DKK.
Friday you can experience the funky local band Vincent Van Go Go (and friends) at HeadQuarters. The band was established as an experimenting partyband to the legendary “Sexual Fridays” in Aarhus, a monthly event. Not two days were the same, and because of their high level stars like Tina Dickow and Camille Jones wanted to play along. From these evenings two records was born, with playful sings about sex, friendships and youth. Free entrance!
It’s also a night with Club Brutal at Radar, where you can experience the local veterans from HatesSphere as the headlining act. At 360 degree stage you can hear the songs from their 8th album ‘Murderlust’, and trash metal stars brings support from Hamferd and Crematoria, last mentioned won the Club Brutal christmas competition, where you could send in a demo and win the chance of performing with HatesSphere and Hamferd. Price is 120 DKK.
The last concert event recommended this week takes place at Radar Saturday. It’s called Music Recommended, ant it’s your chance to not only listen to three brilliant names, but also find out what they listen to, both been hearing and what listen to at the moment. So it’s three intimate concerts, and a vinyl guide from musicians, for only 20 DKK. It’s Telestjernen, The Boy That Got Away (solo), and Bunker.
