With Emily Wells, Jørck, Drenge and RECession Festival
Once again, we have our recommendations ready for this week, and we are starting the concert activities of week 46, with Jørck at HQ (HeadQuarters) this Wednesday. The concert is arranged by both Train and HQ, and is titled ‘Train presents’. The latest release from Jørck came in September, with the release of Dancing on Gold, and album we gave (3/5) stars, but it’s definitely a great live listen a wednesday evening at HQ, no doubt there.
Friday is a big day this week, with great events at both Atlas and Radar.
At Atlas we have a double concert, with the two american musicians Daughn Gibson + Emily Wells. This wasn’t the original idea, but Fonden VoxHall decided to make a 2 for 1, meaning that you get both concerts (and support) for 100 DKK. Daughn Gibson plays a mix of country, americana and electronic, and Emily Wells a mix of alt. folk, jazz, pop and electronic.
Friday is also the opening day for the 12th edition of RECession Festival. The 2013 editions holds a line-up based on neo-folk, electronic and indie-rock, and takes place both Friday and Saturday with stages at Radar, Teater Katapult, Sway and HQ. There will be concerts from NovemberDecember, Ghost of Belle Starr, Sweet Jesus 17, Sky Architects feat. Odd Shapes, War Drums and Of The Wand & The Moon. The price for both days is only 125 DKK!
Sunday there’s a visit from english Drenge at Atlas. This concert is arranged by both Fonden VoxHall and Radar, and takes place at Atlas. It’s punk rock and stubborn noise rock from the two brothers! The name comes from the danish word for boys, and comes from their time living in Denmark, where all the boys yelled this at the football pitch. A long time ago we wrote about this very band, and we are thrilled to have them in Aarhus now! So far 2013 has meant their breakthrough, namely after the english politician Tom Watson recommended the band. The price is 110 DKK.
We’ll see you out there, but feel free to tell us if you’ll be going to other concerts than us this week!
