New week, new concerts! Here’s our recommendations for this week!
It’s impossible to make it to all the concerts in town, so we’ve picked out a few of this weeks best concerts, starting Thursday evening with grime-queen Lucy Love. She’s been impressing us since the release of Superbillion in 2009, followed up by Kilo in 2010. Since then she’s been touring in Europe, Australia and the US, Roskilde Festival twice and won several awards. In September she released her brand new album, Desperate Days of Dynamite, which takes her on a small tour with stops in the four biggest towns in DK. The venue is VoxHall, the price is 150 kr.
Friday it’s time for one of those events we much appreciate here at SOA. Radar (high) once again showcases some of the biggest talents in Aarhus, this time in hip hop/rap. At Radar this Friday, you can witness Dårlige Rygter, Eftersmag, Støjzonen and Big Bois. The price is only 10 kr.!
Also Friday, the french/chinese DJ-trio Chinese Man stops by Train. You can expect an explosive set-up, with visuals complimenting the music, and the last mentioned can be everything from Jazz to Drum’n’Bass, They played Roskilde Festival’13, where a norwegian Gaffa-reviewer gave them 6 stars after an amazing show. Price 140 kr.
Black City returns! We had our very first interview with these fantastic guys (PRESS HERE), before their last concert at the now closed V58. That is some time ago now, and much has happened for us since then, but we are still thrilled to see Black City back in town. You can see them at Studenterhus Aarhus Saturday evening. Standard ticket is 70 kr., and for members it’s 50 kr. Watch out for a contest later this week.
Also playing this week, Lightning Dust (Atlas, Thursday), Ida Corr (Train, Thursday).
