So, we’ve decided to do this weekly guide in a new way, and every week we’ll give you our top 5 concerts in Aarhus. Keep in mind, that this is the 5 concerts we are looking forward to the most, and doesn’t necessarily fit to everyone’s taste – therefore we’d like to encourage you to let us know, if you’ll be going to other concerts in Aarhus, so more people can know about the events. It’s all about spreading the word!
Here are the 5 concerts we are looking forward to the most this week:
The Malpractice at Atlas – Doors open at 20.00 – Price: 110,-
They released their follow up album, ‘MASS’, earlier this year, and once again the critics loved it! Their debut,”Tectonics” came back in 2010 and gave them jobs at both SPOT Festival and Roskilde Festival, and we hope that ‘MASS’ will be their way big to the bigger scenes in Denmark.
Oppenheimer at Radar – Doors open at 19.00 – Price: 30,-
Oppenheimer is this year celebrating it’s 15. birthday, and they do so by doing what they do best: presenting some of the best Danish upcoming names. However this year, more than ever before, we might disagree on parts of the line-up, but it’s definitely more than worthy of visit! This year you can check out Heimatt, Fjer, Sonja Hald and Milford. Also playing this year is the special guest and surprise act Rangleklods, and one might notice that this could be the cheapest Rangleklods concert in a very long time.
Striving Vines (album release) at Radar – Doors open at 20.00 – Price: 60,-
The remarkable about this release is, that Striving Vines released their album in Germany back in January, following a bunch of sold out shows, airplay and constantly growing audience. More than half a year has gone by, and the Danish band is now ready to celebrate the release of ‘Obstacles’ at both Vega and Radar. The album will be in stores on September 22.
NovemberDecember at Fatter Eskil – Concert starts at 22.00 – Price: 60,-
The five members of NovemberDecember released their debut album back in January this year, and here the managed to show the world just how great musicians they are. Live they bring a lot of energy on stage, and if you are in to this genre, you’ll definitely love NovemberDecember!
Broken Twin at Atlas – Doors open at 20.00 – Price: 130,-
Quite possibly the biggest concert this week in our book! Majke Voss Romme and her musicians really impressed this writer at this years SPOT Festival, where they created magic at Musikhuset. With (very) positive comments from medias like The Guardian and The Independent, Broken Twin is here to stay. Support is from the always lovely Dad Rocks!
