Last week it seemed like there had been a bit to many things going on in Aarhus lately, and therefore venues etc. needed a smaller break from all the concerts! However, this week Aarhus is back with a lot of great music to be experienced, and here are our recommendations:
Selvhenter, Radar – Wednesday at 20.00
This Danish group is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new experimenting bands in Europe!
With inspirations from rock, improvisation, African and Asian these guys really created their very own sound.
Kurt Vile & The Violators + Will Samson, Voxhall – Thursday at 20.00
He is an amazing songwriter, and a fantastic performer. The last time he visited Aarhus he impressed every single one attending the concert, and now he is back with new album Wakin On a Pretty Daze that follows up in the incredible album Smoke Ring For My Halo!
Mikael Simpson Trio + Esben Schack, Voxhall – Friday at 20.00
This is the re-scheduled concert, originally scheduled for March, but unfortunately Mikael Simpson got sick and had to cancel a lot of his concerts. But he is back on his feet, and the legendary Danish singer is ready to impress the people in Aarhus with nothing but hits!
Lars And The Hands of Light + Suns of Satan, Radar – Saturday at 20.00
With one experienced band, and one brand new, the audience at Radar will most certainly be in for a lovely evening on Radar. Lars And The Hands of Light Released their new album Baby, we could die tomorrow and Suns of Satan will release their new album 3. Juni – an album that we’ll follow up on later this week, so stay tuned!
Bonnie “Prince” Billy & Dawn McCarthy + Susanna, Voxhall – Sunday at 19.00
Finally a concert for your Sunday evening, and it is with two of the most respected names in the alternative folk/country genres!
