It’s a busy one – this week. Every single day, you can find events all over town; some of them free, some of them not free at all, but there’s something for everyone.
We might have missed something, or you might disagree with us – but you know what? You can help us than everyone else reading this by leaving us a comment, telling us where you’ll be celebrating Aarhus Festuge this week.
Anyway, here goes:
Established black metal band Solbrud will take over ‘Langenæskirken’ as one of four church concerts during Aarhus Festuge. They’ve got an hour to play material from their first two albums, and I’m pretty sure, that the combination of act and venue here is quite extraordinary.
At this point, the local heroes from Liss are reaching for the stars. They’ve already made their breakthrough, especially with the release of their debut EP ‘First’ from May this year. This week, they’ll be taking over the beautiful ‘Skt. Johannes Kirke’ with support from Silvester.
We’ve reached the last four bands in the 2016 edition of Fatter Eskil Prisen. Moon Loves Honey, Pala, Sundays, and Feuerkat will be competing for 25,000 DKK and a gig at SPOT Festival next year – in front of an extremely competent jury. Check out the music HERE.
Yes; Mogwai is coming to town – and we can’t f***ing wait. We’re in for something special here, when they’ll be playing the Atomic soundtrack, while the movie Atomic: Living in Dread and Promise will be shown.
When learning about this line-up, we instantly called it ‘the ideal one-day festival’ to have during Aarhus Festuge. Don’t let the name fool ya, it’s not “just” jazz, it also includes office favourites such as Lowly, Kentaur, and Iceage – read more about it HERE
Ah yes, this absolutely free event holds some amazing talents we’re following closely these days. The timing is perfect, after you’ve spent a lot of money the days before – and the entire day is packed with incredible music. Read more HERE
