Ok, so we’re aware that it’s been three days, since Northside Festival announced the latest additions to their line-up, but hey, better late than never, right?
The 6 exciting additions are:
MØ, the Danish darling who was also featured in SOA CLASS of 2014. Mø had an exciting 2013. It was the year she collaborated with Diplo on the track “XXX 88”, and received Stjernedrysprisen by the Danish Crown Prince Couple in Sydney. MØ is expected to release her long awaited debut “No Mythologies to Follow” on march 10’Th.
San Franciscan psychedelic rock band The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an interesting and exciting booking. The band enjoyed recognition in the 90’s with the release of three great albums “Take it from the Man!”, “Their Satanic Majesties’ Second Request” and “Thank God for Mental Illness” within just six months. If you’re interested in getting to know the band and its quirky personalities the 2004 documentary about them “Dig!” is highly recommended.
English duo Mount Kimbie who is considered the fathers of the post-dubstep genre. In 2013 the band released their critically acclaimed sophomore album “Cold Spring Fault Less Youth”, which includes tracks collaborating with King Krule. On stage the band will bring a full orchestra, which should be an exciting arrangement.
Irish-American folk-rock ensemble Flogging Molly who has played sold-out shows in both Aarhus and Copenhagen. The band is known for their energetic live performances. Mixing Celtic instruments with a somewhat punk-attitude the bands performances are an explosive cocktail that will be sure to get the audience going.
Swedish Nina Persson, best known as lead singer of The Cardigans. Today, January 31’st, Nina will release her first solo-album in her own name. The album title is “Animal Heart”. Besides making her solo-album, Nina has been collaborating with various artists over the last few years, since splitting up with The Cardigans. Most recently she appeared on Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse’s collaboration “Dark Night of the Soul” singing “Daddy’s Gone”.
The Willam Blakes and Moi Caprice mash-up The Mountains who like MØ was part of SOA CLASS of 2014. The Mountains released their debut single “The Mountains” back in June 2013. Since then the band has received great recognition and will be releasing their debut album on March 10’Th.
If anyone feels disappointed by the line-up so far (but why would you?), don’t worry. We have heard from a liable source that about 40 more act are yet to be announced.
