Even though every inch of spotlight is pointed towards major performers like Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Eminem right now it doesn’t mean they have found the golden mean.
After Northside Festival launched their Firstmover tickets and discovered a huge interest from locals which actually made them announce sold out after just three minutes, we’ve been thinking a lot about next years program. It seems like the people out there expects gold, and therefore we’ve tightened our ties and taken in the search for gold-talents for next year’s poster.
We’ve find six talents we personal think more than deserves a spot on the stages:
1. The 1975
From Manchester, UK. An English alternative rock/indie band consisting of Matthew Healy, Adam Hann, George Daniel and Ross MacDonald.
Released their self-titled debut album on September 2nd 2013, which peaked at nummer one on the UK and Scottish chart, but also reached an 8th place on the US rock chart. It’s about time to book these boys!
From Los Angeles, US. An American rock band consisting of sisters Este, Daniel and Alana Haim, along with drummer Dash Hutton, previously a member of LA bands Wires on Fire and Slang Chicken.
The band played at the 2013 Glastonbury festival, earned a top ranking in BBC’s Sound of 2013 and signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management group – enough said!
3. The Neighbourhood
From Newbury Park, US. An American alternative rock band consisting of Jesse Rutherford, Jeremy Freedman, Zach Abels, Mikey Margott and Bryan Sammis. They released their first full-length album I Love You on April 23, 2013 via Columbia Records. It debuted as number 39 on Billboard 200 album chart and at 9 on the US Alternative chart. Furthermore they’ve been touring with major acts like Imagine Dragons. The band who performed at Northside this year.
4. Bipolar Sunshine
From Manchester, UK. This is the solo project from singer/songwriter Adio Marchant, a recent collaboration with Rudimental saw them run an experiment to create and produce a single in just 24 hours and perform it in front of an audience. They succeeded with it! His debut EP Aesthetics has received great reviews and single Rivers was actually iTunes ‘Single of the Week’.
Soon he will release his forthcoming EP Drowning Butterflies on 11th November via The Aesthetic Records. Furthermore this happy guy is on tour with Bastille right now. Touring in UK.
From London, UK This young girl is born in 1991 and she don’t give a sh*t about mainstream sound. She has the attitude like the child of Haim and our own MØ. She is cool, and that’s basically it! Book her now.
6. The Ramona Flowers
From Bristol, UK. An English band consisting of Steve Bird, Sam James, Wayne Jones, Dave Betts and Ed Gallmore. This talented band has been named ‘New Band Of The Day’ on The Guardian and have furthermore been linked with bands like U2, Radiohead, Baths and Mansun. They are using stadium rock dynamics and electronics to mixed effect. Their new single ‘Brighter’ is also remixed by Everything Everything and Mt. Wolf.
