‘Rite de Passage’ will release on 28th April
A lot of things have happened since the last local indie-rockers Annasaid released an album. Among those things half the band have changed. Substitutions have been taking place after two former members from the debut album ‘Jua’ released in 2010 left the band.
Now, after seven tours with more than 200 concerts both international and domestic, a couple of goodbyes and four years to find their own feet, they are ready with the second studio album Rite de Passage.
Fans of the debut album may remember a sound comparable to major acts like Foals and Two Door Cinema Club and this hasn’t changed, at least not on the first official single Collision featured below.
Like with ‘Jua’ the new ‘Rite de Passage’ will be an uncompromising outburst of energy and youth itself. The major difference with the new release will be creeping in below the surface in the form of strong glaring pop arrangements. It may sound neat, but will hit you hard!
In charge of the production you will find a prominent guy. Caspar Hesselager from producer team Pinlig Tavshed. A man not only known from his work with Eclectic Moniker and Hymns from Nineveh, BUT also the guy behind My Heart The Brave – Currently on the poster at both SPOT and Roskilde. You may also remember that we met him for a chat before his show at Radar in town.
All in all the two parties have created an indie meet rock sound. A sound you could very well be seeing at stages and festivals in countries like UK and Germany in the future. Whatever the future may bring, it’s good to have Annasaid back!
In connection with the release of ‘Rite de Passage’, the band will drop a four-day tour in Holland and three release parties in Denmark – two in Jutland and one in the capital.
19.04 – To Be Announced, Copenhagen
25.04 – Viva la Revolution, Aalborg
26.04 – HeadQuarters, Aarhus
If you’re into bands like Two Door Cinema Club and Foals you will love the sound of Annasaid!
