It was with nerves and shaking legs, that we invited all of you to the first version of our new concept Raw Music at Sway. Together with the brilliant folks from Sway and Promus, the goal is to create and host a concept with blooming music and cosiness at the core – a meeting place for the music industry in and around Aarhus. On this night, we experienced three artists, all with the potential to conquer major stages, and with the potential to perform at both national and international festivals. In short, the first version exceeded all our expectations both in regard to audience and performing artists.
First up was new budding band Sundays, founded by Aarhus-based Magnus Jacobsen. With their folk-inspired music, they convinced the attending audience from the first stroke on the guitar and vocal line. Their music is simply a back-to-basic show of force in the sphere of acoustic guitar riffs and mesmerizing vocals; Suitable for both venues and festivals.
Next up was Copenhagen-based Goodbye Lisichka – an indie outfit, with two vocalists, some danceable tracks, and a retro-feel embedded into their soundscape; imagine Veto and The Asteroids Galaxy Tour moving into a small cabin in the forest together – check them out on social media and streaming platforms, and try not to tap along to the music with your foot.
Finally, Aarhus-based Who Is Louis brought their atmospheric electro-synth-pop to the small stage at Sway. No matter how you twist and turn this band, the three members are really some of the most talented live musicians we have. They know all about putting together the pieces to create an atmospheric track that will be haunting and danceable at the same time; suitable for both dark venues, day parties, and nightclubs. Even though lead singer Greta Geschenk knows how to be an outstanding entertainer and performer, try to catch a glimpse at Niels and Bue as well – it is pure talent from all three.
In short, we experienced three bands that could easily become big musical export assets for our small monarchy. The first version of Raw Music simply exceeded all our expectations both in regard to audience and performing artists. We can only say – THANK YOU!
