I don’t know why, but for some reason this new Danish band creates a mental picture inside my head. A small video of a mad teacher yelling at four kids who then runs out of the classroom with their middle fingers held high – all in black and white colours. Somehow that is what I imagine when I press play on this self-entitled debut EP from Copenhagen based Le Fox Holes. The four-piece rock n’ roll outfit is, what you could call, a melting pot band.
With two guys from Silkeborg in the middle of nowhere in Jutland (sorry Silkeborg), a Tasmanian guitar devil, and an American fox holding the microphone, this is as close to ‘world music’ as you can probably come – literally speaking.
If you are a fan of old school rock n’ roll, then I’m pretty sure you will like their personality and music – at least I do. You especially have to check out ‘French Tickle’. A classic rock ‘n’ roll track that will suit perfectly as the soundtrack for a roadtrip. It’s not that I am saying, that this is the perfect soundtrack for a Nevada road trip, nor is it perfect in a Ford Mustang. It is way more suited for a trip in an old Volvo Amazon on a dusty road in the idyllic Danish countryside. You know, on one of those sunny days in August with a girl to your right and a six-pack of beers in the back. I smell cigarettes and rooftop parties, and I absolutely love it.
