They’ve been at it since 2000, the good people from Oppenheimer. Every year, they’ve been presenting new acts, and a quick look at their history will show, that they’ve presented bands such as Duné, The Blue Van, Sonja Hald, Fallulah and Velvet Volume. An impressive list, if you ask me.
This year, a bunch of people from the industry (also called a jury) has been through hundreds of applications, and they’ve narrowed it down to four bands, who’ll get the chance to meet an audience and the press, who’re invited to show up before the doors open.
The entrance is cheap (50 DKK), so there’s no reason not to go.
So, here are the four bands – and the main act – you’ll have the pleasure of experiencing this Saturday at VoxHall:
80’s post-punk/new wave meets 90’s alt-rock. The band includes members from bands such as Slaughter Beach, Virgin Suicide, and Kissaway Trail.
They’ve been played heavily on P6 Beat, who called “Lille Taarbæktøs” one of the best upcoming songs in 2015 – but there’s much more to this act than the one song!
Definitely one of the more experienced names in the field this year, and I’m certain, that Johann will prove, that he and his band deserves to be on that stage – and even more!
Some more new wave, but even more electro pop. It’s definitely the concert at Oppenheimer you’ll be dancing to – so remember to bring appropriate shoes!
Main act: De Underjordiske
Every year, Oppenheimer picks a surprise/main act to close down the night, and this year, they’ve picked the popular Danish psych band De Underjordiske. They’re writing a new album at the moment, and haven’t been performing live since SPOT Festival – meaning: they’ve been longing to be on stage, and they’re ready for ya!
