The talent-festival is back with some of this years best Danish upcoming bands
Since the start of this century, Oppenheimer Festival has been presenting some of the best new acts in this country. Every year, hundreds of hopeful bands apply to this festival, but only a handful of names get to go on stage. This is a chance to play on a bigger stage than usually, and be a part of a festival that provides the exposure you’re longing for. Throughout the years, artists such as Duné, The Blue Van, Fallulah and Ginger Ninja have been on stage, and now Oppenheimer presents some of this years most interesting new names.
Every year, a jury pick out the performing names, and only four names was chosen to play Saturday. This year the jury has included, among others, John Fogde (Northside Festival) and Mark Christiansen (Newbees Festival), meaning that important people already know ‘the chosen ones’!
The line-up this year:
– Alternative pop from Copenhagen!
21.00: Young Dinosaur
– Beautiful pop-melodies with a catchy bass, crooked guitar-riffs and diverse drums.
22.00: My French Friend
– Electronic POP with a Nordic sound.
23.00: Paper Tigers
– A mixture of 60’s English rock music, and 90’s Britpop.
24.00: Ukendt kunstner (surprise-act)
Originality, artistic integrity and commercial-potential are important criteria’s for the jury, and it’s up to you to decide whether or not you agree with their decisions. Personally I expect a lot from Young Dinosaur! To host this incredible night at Radar, Oppenheimer picked out a good friend of SOA, Lukas from Wonders Make Joy.
Support the talents in this country, and stop by Radar and Oppenheimer Festival – there’s cheap beers, good music and entrance is only 20 kr.
