For most people in the music industry in Denmark, it goes like this: Once you’re done being hung over after celebrating new year’s, you start working towards SPOT Festival. I know, it’s several months from now, but there’s always a ton work to be done; setting up day-parties, getting your bands to play, setting up the right collaborations, etc.
Promus – which is pretty much the centre of most music related activity in this town – is probably the one working the hardest (after SPOT, obviously). One of many SPOT-related activities from Promus is the work with Music Cities Network; members of the network includes music cities such as Hamburg, Groningen, Sydney, and Aarhus.
During SPOT Festival, Promus and Music Cities Network will create an international showcase with bands from Aarhus, Hamburg, and Bergen. The bands will pretty much be performing together, exchanging ideas and creating new relations outside of their own country. Does that sound like something you’d be interested in? As an artist or band from Aarhus? Well, go ahead then – apply!
All applications will be considered by a jury containing people from HeadQuarters, NorthSide, Aarhus Festuge, Fonden VoxHall, and Sound of Aarhus.
Deadline is February 6th.
Here’s a song from Lowly – they performed back when Music Cities Showcase was called Urban Music Network.
