The lovely entertainers plays at NS’13 Saturday!
A big Danish name on this years North Side Festival schedule, is the indie-pop seven man music collective The Eclectic Moniker. So grab your sunscreen, all your stashed beers, your best friend and get ready to stomp your feet and put your hands together for the band.
The Eclectic Moniker manages to deliver some of the most danceable and summer-ish music in Denmark.
The band won the big contest hosted by national radio station P3, Karrierekannonen, in 2011. Since then they’ve been jamming their way up with their own funky and electronic sound. Eclectic Moniker really went famous on all of us, when their smash summer we-are-heading-to-the-beach-to-have-fun hit “Easter island” was released. Having a very easy and laidback groove the single was to be detected on virtually any hit list in Denmark at the time. The very characteristic calypso on the track, helped ring in the summer for a great part of the nation
The band consists of the members Frederik Vedersø, Tobias Ljungar Sødring, Anders Thambo, Peter Kohlmetz Møller, Tune Madsen, Jens Kristian Siquiera og Esben Beldring. Big sounds need plenty of people, and that goes for The Eclectic moniker as well. They mix a vary of different characteristic musical sounds and just this May the all the lads in the band released another single named “Sports”, which continued the summery and eclectic (bu dum tssh) sound the band has delivered so far.
Still considering if you should go? Don’t. Like Nike put it, just do it. You are doing yourself a big favour. And hey, when is it not nice to get entertained and really get the feel of summer under your skin? These guys will get you feeling the heat of the sun and the festival despite the very doubtful looking forecast.
