The popular local festival already announced Viet Cong, Happyness and Foxygen to the line-up, today they announced 5 more acts – we’ve had a closer look!
Psychedelic Folk, lo-fi Garage and disjointed krautrock are genre descriptions that have been labelled to Dan Reeves and his gang. It’s dark and claustrophobic, maybe because The Soft Walls is the product of time spent in solitude by Dan. Originating from Brighton and ready to take over Aarhus!
Just slightly different from The Soft Walls, yet still psychedelic inspired – in a completely different way though. Now this is more of a electronic set-up. Expect tight beats, pumping base and trance-like moments!
Behind Doldrums is Canadian artist Airick Woodhead.
Behind this band we find two swedish musicians, who found each other through the love for psych music. Joakim Åhlund played post-grunge in the band Fireside, while Frans Johansson played in Teddybears and Caesars, you know, the ones with the hit ‘Jerk it Out’. Now they’ve become friends with the legendary Anton Newcombe and living the psych-life, whatever that is. Their music is really good though!
Another attempt to the psychedelic folk genre, and it is actually quite successful! About a year ago he released his debut solo album, and the six-string wizard made some pretty great tunes on that record – and got to play them on several occasions, including Austin Psych Fest.
First Danish band announced – and it’s a really exciting one! Gooms is, among others, members from Oh No Ono and Figurines. It’s weird, but not as in you don’t wanna listen to it. I guess there’s really not much to say about this band, this is where the music has to tell the story, all i know is: i like it!
