Local punk outfit Yung are soon to release their first new music since last year’s international debut. Mikkel Silkær Holm has been busy as usual, however, with a solo release late last year (Holm) and various collaborations – but his main gig, Yung, are not laying idle.
Nostalgia marks another evolution in Yung’s sound with a bigger and more plaintive soundscape – furthering some of the ‘quieter’ moments on last year’s LP A Youthful Dream, however still retaining an air of innocence and excitement. The accompanying video is surprisingly hi-fi as well – still retaining some darker elements in the form of vignettes and urban imagery.
The new EP will be self-titled and out on Geertruida – a very unique imprint that happens to be a house and guitar shop as well based in Haarlem, Netherlands. Yung also announced another UK/EU tour in support.
You can catch Yung on Thursday at RADAR for a pre-spot warm-up, alongside acts such as First Hate, Marching Church, and Saint Cava. If you haven’t seen them yet, you’re in for a treat.
