The Copenhagen synth-pop duo consisting of Wanda Bra and Hansen releases on 8/8/13 their debut album “The Girl With The Fruit Basket” and you know what – The grammar is meant to be this way. After an intense time with a series of studio sessions and concerts it is now made possible to have an album ready on the Danish-German label Mabel The Label. Unfortunately to earlier, because of iTunes!
The duo met in Copenhagen in November 2012, and has already played at both Stengade and Live Live Festival and also had the song ‘Lilith’ included on the collection ‘Six Of The Best’ from Mabel The Label.
Their Debut album consists of nine songs which in their own way are trying to show that pop-music does not necessarily have to be either stupid or nauseating sugar-sweet. Wanda Bra moves in her own personal universe of dreams and drama, while the music is characterized by Hansen’s mixed background in techno, synthpop and industrial.
The result is a dark and cheeky kind of pop music that keeps you bound in leather, instead of sugar. In line with the Trust, Austra or The Knife used mechanical beats and seductive melodies.
The Autumn is going to offer a video for the single Touch Me Hard, a label-tour, recordings of an EP, as well as several concerts. Aarhus bookers – call them!
