The venues arises in the case concerning rehearsal rooms
At the regional venues in Aarhus , we understand the importance of the local musical food chain. At both Atlas, Radar, Train and VoxHall are regularly presented local bands and artists, and the burgeoning growth layer and established names in Aarhus constitute an invaluable treasure trove that we tax high.
Every January we celebrate Aarhus’ mighty musical diversity with the large-scale Musik Aarhus Festival – a 10-day festival that presents only locally based bands and artists in all sorts of different rhythmic genres. Crucial to the festival’s livelihood is in the very nature that Aarhus continue to foster lime streams of exciting bands and artists, which the fertile talent taken into account should not be a problem.
However, it is a prerequisite for the continued cultivation of the growing layer, that these people have good and attractive conditions to develop under. Meaning that the framework must be in order – that the city’s musicians, what level they may be on, have access to rehearsal rooms. These rehearsal room are a basic prerequisite for the city’s musicians to flourish and create the music we all appreciate and love so much. Rehearsal rooms serve vital social functions for musicians and it is here that the sketches for great things and drawn and takes shape.
Therefore, we find it disturbing that a large number of rehearsal rooms are currently under threat of closure due to funding problems. The local musical food chain is simply dependent on the fact that the city can make something as basic and simple as rehearsal rooms available for the city’s musicians. Therefore it is our hope that we can agree on an appropriate support framework to ensure the rooms existence.
All the best ,
