Much have happened since Danish singer Karen Marie Ørsted first made an impact on the music scene under the moniker MØ with her black-and-white videos released in 2012. Later in 2013 her popularity rose even further, especially outside of Denmark, as she appeared on Avicii’s track ‘Dear Boy’, and unveiled her single ‘XXX 88’ featuring Diplo. Now she has just unveiled two new things for the world to talk about.
First of all, on October 15 she will release her new single ‘Kamikaze’. We haven’t heard anything yet, so we can’t really tell you anything about it more than the basic fact that it will release next week.
Furthermore, she just unveiled a new cover of New York based indie-pop act Bleachers, an act consisting of Jack Antonoff of Fun and Steel Train. He recently released a new album called ‘Terrible Thrills Vol. 2’ – a new version of his debut album ‘Strange Desires’ from 2014, but this time reinterpreted by various female singers including MØ, Sia, Elle King, Charli XCX and more.
The reason, Jack Antonoff says, is that he always writes his music to be sung by female voices, so now he would like to hear what it would actually sound like. Our Danish queen MØ is featured with her very own version of track ‘You’re Still A Mystery’ and there is something really sexy about her version. To be honest, it is much better and fresher than the original version. MØ kills it every time, end of story.
