As an economics student I’ve heard a thing or two about private labels at the retailers. The downsides of these are the constant fear of what you are really buying and from whom. This is really in direct contrast with Mejlgade. It seems to be indifferent whether they are forced to host an alternative event at Filmbyen or actually host their well-known street party in Mejlgade – you always get the feeling of being at some kind of secret party that could quite well be closed down by the police whenever you go to the toilet for a minute, I love that feeling.
If you weren’t there last Saturday you really can’t imagine how partying at the major studios really were – it’s mind-blowing. Spice that thought up with a Hummer parked in the middle and top that with Bruce Willis. Throw Bertram Zanjani into the Hummer with his DJ tools and you got yourself a party!
As a new development this year the people at Mejlgade had invited both Wimp and VICE for some extra treats. Actually a brilliant match branding-wise. Of course the alternative version of Mejlgade did not exactly hit the same kind of people, the same clientele, as they usually affect with their original street party, but that said it really worked out well. People were really just partying together with no hard feelings and snobbishness involved. And that’s really what MANGFOLDIGHED or Diversity is all about right?
Mejlgade For Mangfoldighed I love you.
