Only hours ago SPOT festival announced additional acts. This time they’ve invited some major talents and magical pop-injections to make you fall even more in love with the Aarhus-based festival.
Bon Homme x Lydmor (DK)
For those who are still wondering and did not see him previously at SPOT festival – Bon Homme is the new black! Behind his classy look hides no other than Tomas Høffding, 33% of WhoMadeWho. While this would be more than enough for most people, it has not prevented him from also creating brilliant electro-pop under the alias Bon Homme.
His second album ‘A Life Less Fancy’ released on September 23 last year and here, among other things the singles ‘Daybreaker’ and ‘The Optimist’ were included. They include guest vocals from none other than the super-talent Lydmor. At Spot their two personal concerts will flow together into one piece of endless love!
Stine Bramsen (DK)
Haven’t heard her first single yet? Well it’s about time! She recently regaled the pop-loving masses with her new solo single ‘Prototypical’. After release the single topped the charts, making a second place just behind Pharrell’s oscarnominated ‘Happy’. Stine knows how to handle and create international chart-breakers so we can’t wait for her yet-to-be-titled album due later this year.
Back in the days she toured the world as a chorist for Lykke Li, until her Breakthrough single ‘Spinnin Around’ released in 2012. Since then nothing has been released. Then major artists Robyn (current on the Northside poster) came by and signed her on her own label Konichiva Records this year. As an end on the turbulent story she released her debut EP ‘Prophet’ yesterday and conquered the stage at the Swedish Grammy Award – Of course with Robyn as guest on stage.
Emilie Nicolas (NO)
This addition is especially exciting for us at the SOA office. Regular readers will recognise her as one of our previous watch-outs from September last year. At the time she was unsigned, but then Sony Music came along. We are talking electro-pop with a melancholic twist and great energy. I’ll repeat the words from September: “This is a shout out to the Danish venues and bookers. Make her come to Denmark, please! She has a lot of potential to become a big name. If she continues to blossom and expand her talent she could perhaps become a new Scandinavian pop-phenomenon – who knows?”
Well, this is a band that knows how to handle, create and write chartbreakers. Music fans will recognize both “Børn af Natten” and “DJ Blues”. Enough said! This will definitely be a concert including visuals and sing-a-long.
Alcoholic Faith Mission (DK)
Some bands chose to ignore Denmark and pull out all the stops for the international scene. This Danish indie-collective is one of those bands. Maybe that’s also why this could very well be one of the most exciting additions for the Spot poster. With three albums and a heavy amount of concerts behind them, they know how to make music! At SPOT they’ve chosen to bring a set that focus and reflect on their entire career – also with the release of a remake album called ‘We Stop the World From Falling Apart’ due in April. SPOT will be one of the stops on a minor tour in Denmark.
Chorus Grant (DK)
He is one half of the band who made every music lover take a deep breath last year at the debut Cancer concert at SPOT Festival 2013. He is the reason for a heavy amount of articles online about his new single ‘O Everyone’ in the nation of Internet. We love him. Not a we-want-to-have-your-kids kind of love, but a we-want-you-to-live-and-play-in-aarhus-all-the-time kind of love!
The Eclectic Moniker (DK)
Imagine a rainy SPOT festival, not the most ideal situation right? Well don’t worry! They have added The Eclectic Moniker on the poster. No description needed! Just have a listen.
After experiencing sunshine-sound with Eclectic Moniker, SPOT has added Swedish club-master Iberia on the poster. Her sound is comparable with the hours between 03-05 in the morning. Not as wild as the nights before, but a thousand times more cozy!
