Okay, I haven’t been doing any counting or whatever, but I’m pretty sure that Moon Loves Honey must be on – at least – our top 5 of ‘Bands mentioned the most’ in 2016. (note to self: we should totally have an award show?)
And there’s a good reason to it; they came out of nowhere and impressed us with ‘Apart’, their beautifully produced EP from back in February, and since then, they’ve impressed us with live performances, including the ones at Fatter Eskil Prisen where they reached the finals, and the following up with spacey videos.
I hadn’t expected that 2016 would include another song from Moon Loves Honey for me to fall in love with. I really hadn’t. But here it is. Out all of a sudden. And for the last couple of days or more, I’ve been forced to stay in bed due to sickness, so I’ve had plenty of time to give this song a spin and it truly is a charming piece of dreamy alt rock from the local youngsters. The sound has more volume to it, than from what we’ve heard before from this band, but without losing the playful keys, the effect-full guitar, and the not-so-clear vocals. I like where this is going. Don’t you?
