This young boy from ‘93 is an Aarhus based independent songwriter which also works as his own producer, making catchy tunes which can best be described as electropop. With a high productivity and a Do-It-Yourself attitude Oskar Jefsen is spending his year after high school making albums – and yes, that’s plural.
Singing and playing guitar, Oskar Jefsen is also part of the disco-funk-band Elefanatic. But now, with a lot of time on his hands, he has been producing and writing his own material, all by himself – everything from writing and composing to mixing and mastering has been done in his basement room in Aarhus.
One laptop, one microphone, one midi-keyboard – that’s all it takes.
In January, his album “Green” was released, featuring eight soul/pop-songs with a warm, acoustic feel.
Now he is ready with a new album: “Petrichor”. With “Petrichor”, meaning the pleasant scent after rain, Oskar Jefsen is taking his musical style in new directions, with inspirations such as Prince, Penguin Prison, Breakbot and french electronic music in general.
“Bleed A Little” is the 4th track of the album, telling a story about how going to a new city reveals something about oneself. With deep pad-structures and a hard bass, the single completely reveal his new side and moves the previous acoustic sound into a dreamy, dark, electronic world.
