Monday we visited Aarhus studenterradio, and had the pleasure of playing the new single from Point Blank. The song is called ”They Ask” and it was released Friday!
This local band is really something special! They play hip-hop, but with a set-up that includes trumpet (Emil Hesselbæk) and saxophone (Frederik Hagner) which instantly gives them their own hip-hop sound. But this is not the only remarkable thing about this band; in front they have the amazing rapper Napkin Cole. He is truly one of the few good rappers in Denmark who raps in English, and this is definitely to be heard on the new single.
Their first EP “Don’t Let The Minute Hand Slap you” came back in October’11. It featured the amazing hit “Where should we go?” that features Naja. This song has been seen more than 40.000 times on YouTube and it secured interest from the Danish music industry and the bigger Danish magazines. Since then they’ve released the two tracks “Welcome” and “The Train feat. Inspired” on their Bandcamp page, both released in 2012.
And with the new single “They Ask” we hope they’re getting closer to a new album release – and BTW, their new single can be downloaded for free here:
We actually saw them perform at last years ‘Mejlgade for mangfoldighed’. Here they yet again showed Aarhus just how great musicians they really are, but they also managed to turn Mejlgade in to one big party.
Their new song comes with a music video that invites the listener in to the Point Blank-universe, and by seeing this video you can sense what you can expect from seeing them live – a band that gets your body moving, a very impressing rapper and a sound that makes you want to hear more!
They are playing at SPOT Festival – Friday 15.15 at Foyer!
