Definitely one of those concerts you just have to stop by at this years SPOT Festival.
Back in March we brought an article about the local Boho Dancer. At that time, they had just released their first single “Fictional Reasons” (linked above) from their debut album. And the release of their debut album was something we had been waiting for, for some time. This is one of the most hyped upcoming bands, but not without reason. After winning “Karrierekanonen”, playing at SPOT Festival, Northside Festival and Berlin Music Week, winning an UMA for Best alternative Act and releasing their critically acclaimed EP “Furry Skin” they released their debut album “Gemini”. It was released in April, and it was rewarded with 4/6 stars at both Gaffa and Soundvenue.
At last years SPOT Festival we stopped by Atlas to see them perform. At that time we knew some of their songs, but we sort of went to check out if they were as good as people were saying. And I’m glad we did!
It didn’t take long to become amazed by the lovely voice from lovely and powerful voice from Ida Wenøe. And with her fellow band members Asker Bjørk and Simun Mohr they’ve created a magical modern-folk expression.
Since last years performance they’ve been playing many European concerts and tours, and in general there’s been a lot of international focus on the young Aarhus-band. With more experience, and a new album out – it seems like we are in for something truly special.
If you like folk – do yourself the favor of stopping by Voxhall Friday at 16.00.
