This night was pretty stormy and chilly, so already half an hour before concert start, people were crowding together up against each other at green stage to feel some sort of commonly created warmth.
Then Jamie XX took the stage, and without a single word, he calmly put himself behind the DJ concole, and immediately turned up the heat and the love among with a remix of one of his own The XX tunes. It was clear that the audience had been waiting all day for something they could really let loose to, and they were expecting it to happen right here in front of Jamie XX.
And so it did! Hard beats roared across the site and the buzzing sensation of the bass kept hitting everyone in the chest over and over again.
The silent and talented DJ and producer made people break out in dance and wild jumps to a remix of Gil Scott-Heron ’I’ll Take Care of You’, while struggling to keep their spot up front to catch a glimpse of the artist.
It was obvious that he knew exactly what to deliver to make the audience tremble with anticipation for the beat to drop. Volume and bass was slowly turned down for quite a while, and when he felt the audience couldn’t hold back anymore, he released the pumping bass making the audience going crazy to the electronic melodies.
Jamie XX finished with a remix of ’You got the love’ by ’Florence and the Machine’, and even though he had already played parts of it, he was only met with even more love, cheers and applauses the second time. Even in the far edge of the crowd, people were jumping and smiling.
This was without a doubt the best concert of the day, and an electronic feast of a dance party! Thank you for making us dance our hearts and bodies warm tonight!
