Swedish Hurula was one of the few acts this year that i didn’t know at all. I had actually never heard of them before. But I decided to check them out on Soundcloud a few hours before the concert, and then decided to go.
They started out with this noise-intro, trying to create this dark and laud mood at Atlas; that only lasted to the very beginning of the opening song which basically turned the gig into a Swedish pop concert. Admitted, these guys were good in their own way – i mean, that where good at playing their instruments and such, but the band did manage to frustrate me quite a bit.
Now, the obviously though of themselves as some sort of a punk band, but pop isn’t punk just because the volume is higher than usually. And they’d all decided to dress up, trying to find this image thing I guess, but the five musicians looked they played different bands. When you decide to dress up, you can at least agree on what kind of image you’re looking for.
However, they do deserve credit for being good musicians.
