I’ve never been the guy who finds an Alex Vargas song on Spotify on my way out of the door – and I never will be. But here at the office we’ve always seen him for what he is; an extraordinary talented musician and singer.
Last year at SPOT, he conquered Lille Sal and left our writer surprised, impressed and overwhelmed – this year, he’d been upgraded to Store Sal, and what a match it was.
This huge “venue” was absolutely packed, and you could really feel that this guy’s a bit more famous than the rest of the bunch playing at SPOT. You had huge fans there, and then you had the soon-to-be fans. ‘Soon’ as in immediately after the concert. The stage is pretty damn huge, and with only two guys on it, it could seem like a bit of a challenge reaching everyone, but my God..
Everyone there felt it, and I mean everyone. Alex Vargas has the most impressive live vocal I’ve heard in ages, and his companion, Tommy Sheen, seems like the perfect partner in crime. The sound was incredible, the audience was incredible, but the thing that bound the whole thing together was this astonishing light show on stage. The combination of the presence, the performance, the lights and the audience was simply overwhelming.
A sheer demonstration of power from Alex Vargas and Tommy Sheen. The music is still not my thing, but you’ve got my respect, that’s for sure. I needed that.
He did it again... Alex Vargas must be one of the best live acts we've got. We simply do not know, what else to say. (6/6)
