In less than a week, we’ll be packing our bags and heading towards Skanderborg, a city not far from our beloved Aarhus. We’ll actually be quite many on this trip, 7 of us; including photographers, writers and all sorts or people that represents Sound of Aarhus.
As you’ve guessed already, we’ll be going to Smuk Fest this year, and this is actually the first time we’ll be going there as Sound of Aarhus – and we can’t wait! Smuk Fest is covered by practically all the big medias, especially DR, so we thought we’d try something different instead of competing with others. Also, given that this is our first time at Smuk Fest, it could be fun to try out something new.
We will be most noticeable during the “warm up” days, when Smuk Fest will be throwing their annual Live Camp competition. What is Live Camp, you might ask. No biggie, here’s some info:
What is Live Camp all about?
Live Camp is a three day festival at KærligHeden, Smuk Fest. From Sunday – Tuesday, Smuk Fest will be introducing upcoming acts at their beautiful campsite. Sunday and Monday will be the actually Live Camp contest, where established companies, institutions or people introduce an act who’ll then compete for the grand prize, actually there’s two winners; One winner will be opening the main stage, Bøgescenerne, and the second winner will be playing at P3 Teltet Thursday.
Tuesday there’s another contest going on, and this time it’s the final round in Karrierekanonen, presented by DR. We already have a favourite or two, but for now we’ll keep them to ourselves!
During these three days, we’ll have this little lounge near the stage. We’ve been in contact with lovely REUSE Aarhus, so we’ve managed to get furnitures to create this lovely place for you to come and hangout. Also, several Live Camp artists will stop by for open interviews, acoustic performances and the obligatory Underberg we’ve got sponsored. Yup, it’s gonna be a pretty nice place to be!
During the “official” days of Smuk Fest, we’ll be reviewing, interviewing audience both on and off campsite, taking pictures and trying to capture the atmosphere in Bøgeskoven. Most importantly, we’d love to have a chat with the Smuk Fest audience, so if you see us, want to talk to us or whatever, feel free to stop us or write to us. We’d love to hear some stories from Smuk Fest, and we’d love to bring them on our site!
If you’re going to Smuk Fest, remember to catch the Live Camp acts! Support the upcoming scene by going to KærligHeden and give these musicians an experience they won’t forget, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as well. See you out there!
