Something happened when these three bearded guys released ‘Conquistador’, their hit EP from 2012. I guess it was a time where a lot of people had turned to the folk-scene, and a lot of bands started to release half hearted, badly produced, wannabe Mumford and Sons album – but not this band. The White Album found their unique sound, their unique profile and that resulted in a finding a route straight to our hearts!
I remember standing in line for their concert at Spot Festival 2013, where the line caught me by surprise. I knew that a lot of people would love to see it, and that there’d be a line – but not as longs as this one! I came to the location with my friends, in good time, and i guess we all wanted to see them live, but I ended up standing by myself in the line through most of the concert. I got a seat with three songs to go, the three songs i really wanted to hear: Seasons End, Seventeen and Your Mouth Is A Fist. It was incredible to enter a venue, to find a seat and look down on stage where three calm, talented and entertaining guys (with their backing musicians), each holding a guitar and singing like angels.
Recently they did a Vice x Wimp live session, where they played their single ‘Kings And Aces’ from their forthcoming album The Quiet Strum – release is only a couple of days away, so start getting excited. Anyways, here’s a teaser of what you can expect, so take a look at this lovely video and enjoy being in company with The White Album. Oh, and they’ll be touring like crazy from now one, and they’ll be stopping by Aarhus in November to play at Radar.
