“Come out come out into the street – a war has been waged on humanity!”
So this new single from Kellermensch begins. A hard-hitting second single from their long(!) awaited album ‘Goliath’, set to be released Friday this week. From the very second you’ve been called to the streets, you almost feel like you’re a part of the universe created in this song. You can almost picture yourself holding the stones in your hands.
‘The Pain of Salvation’ was released Friday last week, only seven days before the release of their first album since releasing their self-titled full-length in 2011. And what a joy it is to have Sebastian Wolff and his amazing companions back. The first single, ‘Bad Sign’, released in November last year, was, in my opinion, one of the best Danish singles released last year.
I know, for a fact, that several fans of the band have been waited for a studio version of this new song for years, as Kellermensch played it when opening the Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival in 2012.
The war in ‘The Pain of Salvation’ is accompanied by war-ish drums, dramatic strings and a lead singer who begs for salvation – and, as the press material states:
“The song ends in a search for catharsis among bombardments of upright bass and screaming guitars”
And that’s the thing about Kellermensch and their two recent singles; they’re incredibly well-written, dramatic, captivating, and sets the bar way up high before the release of ‘Goliath’. We can’t f***ing wait
Listen to the brand new single, ‘The Pain of Salvation’ right here. Once you listened to it, you might as well give ‘Bad Sign’ a spin – again, and again, and again.
