When Vincent Van Go Go meet Gypsies
A new project is born in our little town. Even though Katy Perry made the sound of a tiger into a phrase of pop and autotune, two young talented artists have decided to reinvent the term with their new project The Roar.
The new project was born by Johs Nørrelykke (Vincent Van Go Go) and Birk Nevel (Gypsies, Are We Brothers, Shaka Loveless) and their sound is described as alternative epic soul rock. They only just released one video with some live material, and we can’t wait to hear more from them at the SOA office.
Actually the cornerstone in their sound grew from jam-sessions. Only two days ago they published that all the recordings for their forthcoming debut album was finished and therefore the album is expected to be released this year. Even the recordings were rather special, as they chose to record in an abandoned diary outside Aarhus. This was exactly the place with the silence, acoustics and the cold they were looking for! Sounds special and different? We like it!
